I had not thoug...Interesting perspective, Michael. I had not thought of it until now, but travel was very important to my parents, especially my mother. We lived in a very small farming community in Kansas and my mother's goal was that her three children would visit all 48 contiguous states before we graduated from high school and went to college. A visit to the southern states just before the civil rights movement helped me to see that some Americans did not have the same freedoms that my family enjoyed.
