Avoid loosing yourself!

Beyond folks who have children and possibly those who are leaders or managers of people and groups, there are two groups of people I think should watch this speech: Those who are teachers; and those who are not teachers... In other words this speech holds inspiration and considerations which effect us all! ...enjoy! And for all of our sakes, if you were raised to possess and treasure a "closed mind", try to open it back up, if even for a day! Who knows, you might learn something or at least encourage someone else to...

I would now encourage you to go live a life without the regret that all you did was encourage others to believe like you did and understand the things you could comprehend. Instead be proud that you encouraged others to be smarter than you and wiser about decision and chose to avoid resolutions which only reflected the knowledge, experience and wisdom you possessed yesterday or decades before.

Find a way to grow, even when your old. (and I don't mean by gaining weight.) Find a way to accept others, even when your are confortable with yourself. Find a way to assist and be productive, even when you are retired. Find a way to avoid pride, even when you feel sure. Find a way to embrace humility, even when you are accomplished. If you find these things, then you just might avoid loosing yourself.

So go a few of the thoughts this speech inspired me to consider on this exciting Saturday morning. It's exciting because the world is still spinning, and the lungs are still working. Go enjoy it...

UPDATE: If you loved Sir Ken Robinson's Speach above, you will possibly love even more this exceptional, Illustrated version of a more recent speach of his, created in partnership with the RSA:

Wow! Suddenly I feel so not alone in this fast paced world! I have uprooted my family and dragged them out to the country side for reasons related to this clip. I have always loved the city life so this was BIG. Raising a family in today's society has it's work cut out for me. I have not even finished watching since I feel mu other half has to see it too! Keeping an open mind is just the beginning...
